Ephesians says that we are God’s masterpiece. That amazes me – that God, like an artist, is painting a story of redemption in our lives. We’re not the artist, we’re the canvas – our lives are not our own. And it’s not just any story or painting. There’s nothing ordinary about it – we are His masterpiece. If you have faith, you didn’t dream that up. God painted it there and the painting doesn’t get the glory, the artist does.
I’m in my fifties. I would never have been able to imagine the image of redemption that God has painted in my life. I’m a believer, husband, father, and friend with a passion for worship. I’m deeply committed to marriage and family. I have a beautiful wife who loves me dearly, and three children ages 22, 21 and 6.
In the professional world, I’m a data architect, author the SQL Server Bible series, Microsoft SQL Server MVP, lead editor for SQL Server MVP Deep Dives, and a regular conference and seminar presenter. I focus on design and development of complex databases.
In the ministry world, I attended Reformed Theological Seminary and was the Enterprise Data Architect for Compassion International. I’m convinced that most ministries would benefit from a better database, so one of my goals is to enable ministries with a CRM designed for the relationship intensive needs of ministries.
