Weird Holidays

August 17, 2010

It’s fun to celebrate unusual holidays. Here are the days I enjoy:

Pi Day – March 14  (3/14),  or July 22 (22/7)  – also birthday of Albert Einstein

Tolkien Reading Day – March 25 – the day that Sauron fell in The Lord of the Rings

Star Wars Day – May 4th – “May the Fourth be with you.”

Towel Day – May 25 – “A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.” – Douglas Adams

Talk like a Pirate Day – Sept 19th  – “Arggg Matie.”

Ask a Stupid Question Day  – Last School day in Sept

Reformation Day – Oct 31 – the Day Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany
